This is the replacement display for the Hitway BK6S electric bike. On most e-bike systems the display is not just a readout — it is the control interface. It switches the system on, sets the assist level, and reports speed, battery state, and error codes. On a large share of platforms, including this class of bike, the controller will not power the motor if the display is not communicating, which is why a failed display can look exactly like a failed controller.
That is also why the display cannot simply be swapped for a similar-looking unit. The display and the controller share a protocol, and the connector carries power and data on defined pins. A display from a different platform may fit the handlebar and even plug in, and still leave the bike dead.
